Who the hell is this man? I first saw him in the demo for Flipboard (an awesome iPad app you should check out). I thought he was the developer of that app just demoing his labors for the internet. But he is also demoing this app for a different company. He’s also in media for Square, the popular credit card readers for iOS. I’ve also seen him in a demo video for glif, an iPhone tripod/stand thing. So who the hell is this guy. Is he actually a developer? Does he know every hip-ass iOS developer ever to come into existence? And if he isn’t involved in creating these apps, why would a company want such an uncharismatic person to sell their product? It’s because he looks like a New York hipster, isn’t it… This crap really drives me crazy.

So its terrible iPhones tracking you, Steve Jobs saying they aren’tblahblahblah

Hey lookit, a map of where I’ve been over the past almost-year. I think Apple’s weird security hole and the anal security firm who made the app to publish that data have stumbled upon some trendy new art installation. Do it, artsy apple fanboys  graphic designers.

Hello World!

Videogame-editorial style magazine for iPad made in part by the creators of the 1UP Show. That means I’m sold and if you have an iPad, you should definitely check this stuff out. The price of admission is just a dollar so if even if you don’t like it you take solace in the fact that you couldn’t have even bought a bottle of soda from a vending machine for that price.

I think I’m done with The Daily. The tech is really cool—I like opening my iPad every morning like a newspaper—but the content is so dumb. This is one their main articles today. Every other news story I read today also had a Fox News slant on it. I wish there was an app like this with actual news and a reporting style like AP. Maybe one day.

I really like the new Chrome logo. I was never a huge fan of the original and I do have a taste for cleanly designed vector art. This logo looks like a design student whipped it up in Illustrator, which is part of the charm of it. Although now it most definitely looks like a camera lens shutting…

For some reason there was (and right now, still is) a google streetview car in my apartment’s parking lot. Never seen one of them before. It’s got California plated and everything. Neat.

The Meaning of Irony:

People are up in arms over Apple forcing content apps that offer subscriptions outside the app (i.e. Netflix) to offer them in the app so Apple can take a 30% cut of the revenue.

Apple won’t spend about $60 billion of it’s offshore funds in the U.S. unless they can lobby a tax holiday because the tax would take 35% of the money for the federal government.

HA!

Speak to Tweet Feed

Google and Twitter push to Speak 2 Tweet, a service whereby Egyptians can continue to tweet by leave voice messages from their phone. These tweets are amazing. It adds some more humanity to the plight of the Egyptian people. This is why technology is great. Kudos to the Goog and Twitter for standing up to a foreign government too, it really does speak to compassion a company can have.
