Here’s my group’s final 6 page comic for Digital Imaging Fundamentals:

I wrote and lettered it. Although I have to say, the artist did change a bit of the story around (at least the paneling of it). As a result I think that page 5 makes little to no sense. But you decide.  Click the little gray boxes below if you’re viewing this in the tumblr dashboard:

So its terrible iPhones tracking you, Steve Jobs saying they aren’tblahblahblah

Hey lookit, a map of where I’ve been over the past almost-year. I think Apple’s weird security hole and the anal security firm who made the app to publish that data have stumbled upon some trendy new art installation. Do it, artsy apple fanboys  graphic designers.

Look what I made:

It’s a flash-built splash page for Totoro. It was my first assignment for my Fundamentals of Interactive Design class, and like in my Photoshop post a week ago, I feel this is decent for a week’s experience in Flash CS5. And if you know Flash, I’ll just explain why it has the animations it does. I was required to have 2 shape tweens, 2 classic tweens, 1 motion tween and 1 path animation. Again, decent. I plan to take the next week to hopefully touch up the assets and add some detail while still keeping the style simplified.

I made this in Photoshop in about two hours. I only learned how to use Photoshop on Thursday, for my Digital Imaging class. This is meant to be sort of autobiographical, so I chose to make app icons my interests. I think it turned out decent for a newbie. Just ignore the weird perspective and the fact that the first icon refuses to align with anyone and we’ll both be okay.

Never posted this. My friend Mia got Amanda Conner to draw her this amazing Power Girl a few months ago when she hung out with her for a day. I love the stylized neck collar that leads to her chest.

So very jealous.

Final design project. The instructions were to make an ugly background. Then we were given random scrap shapes and imagery leftover from other students this semester. So my attempt to reconcile this was to tear the shapes to match the brush stroke’s sloppiness. Then I found similar colored shapes and arranged them opposite their corresponding color patch on the board. Hopefully the two pictures operate as parallels, moving laterally against each other. With an eye. Oh and some guy’s face.

Yeah man, art talk.

Another design project. The limitations were there had to be a split-complimentary color scheme with one of the Y-branches being augmented to a landlord color. The geometric shape had to be an archetypal shape created with a curvilinear shape and a sharp lined shape. I enjoy this piece, at least the color. The red kind of annoys me though; it’s too obvious. And I feel the arch could be more sophisticated.

2-D Design Project, ended up getting an A- on it. It was a piece meant to evoke an emotion without using any sort of facial expression. Solely using color, composition and body language. I think it was successful.
